VLA Response:
Actually – we could probably save the NHS an even larger chunk of that £15b. Just imagine what that could mean for investing in a safer future for all of us and creating an incredible health service.
We say this, because we know that switching to a vegan diet lowers cholesterol, for example. Vegan (plant based) food is almost zero in cholesterol and is high in the phytonutrients (plant sterols) that also help to lower bad cholesterol levels in humans. Even our own Director has been able to reduce his medications for blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. He’s also reversed his diabetic retinopathy and has literally saved his eyesight.
GPs in the UK are trained not to prevent illness, but to prescribe for illness.
In our minds this is a ridiculous way to run a healthcare system and people are spending years suffering and taking medications that could be avoided altogether.
A vegan diet these days is incredible and is as delicious as it is nutritious and healthy. Yes, you can eat vegan junk food all day and it won’t be particularly good for you … but with a little knowhow you can miss none of your favourites whilst gaining in health. What’s not to love about that?!
If you want to take control of your own health and, if collectively, we want to save lives and have a healthier future – then rethinking veganism is the best thing we can do.
We can help.
