Shopping

Vegan food shopping has never been easier. You can continue to enjoy many of your favourite foods and brands.
However, it can be a fun adventure to find and try new foods! You’ll need to read product labels for a while until you get used to shopping vegan,
but you’ll soon find it easy to adapt to a compassionate diet.

Please ask us for help if you need it and you can get further advice from great feature articles in our Associate’s magazine VEGAN24 and by following our social media feeds. [Tip: search #easy2bvegan]

NB: We advocate purchasing veganic / organic goods wherever availability and budget allows, as these farming systems are far kinder to our environment and to all of
the wildlife within it.

Supermarket guides:

We asked all of the UK’s leading supermarkets about their Vegan product availability, labeling, listings and logos. As you’ll see from the responses below, some are far better than others at the moment. We’ll continue working with them and with manufacturers to improve the situation and make it easier for us to shop quickly and safely. Those supermarkets with vegan lists are in green.

Aldi

“I can confirm that we do sell a lot of vegan-friendly items in the store, unfortunately we do not have a list of all the products that I could send to
you, but can confirm that all our products have an ingredients list on them so we would recommend that your members look at the labels of the items in
the store for more information.”

Asda

“As we discussed, unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to supply you with a list of products suitable for Vegans due to the constant changes to our Asda brand
of items, I can certainly understand the query you raised with myself and it would certainly make shopping a lot easier. We do put as a statement on back
of pack at the end of the ingredients declaration where we are advised to do so, but currently we don’t have a graphic or symbol which we apply to either
back or front of pack, we just have this for vegetarian products.”

Co-op

“Thank you for taking the trouble to contact the Customer Careline regarding our Vegan policies and please find enclosed an answer to your query – a copy of our most recent Vegan list. I can confirm we do use the V symbol to indicate Vegan or vegetarian.” Contact for the spread sheet

Farmfoods

“As we are a retailer and not the manufacturer of our products we do not have a detailed list of vegan items. However, if there was a specific product that
you required further information about please do not hesitate to contact us.” Customer Services : 0 or email.

Morrisons

“Unfortunately, we do not supply any lists at Morrisons that can show foods suitable for Vegans as we believe lists can become out dated and inaccurate. As the
packaging on our products is updated regularly and in accordance with any recipe or ingredient changes we much prefer our customers to rely on this
information to save any confusion.”

Nisa

“We do have a list of Heritage products that are suitable for Vegans and I attach a list current as of today’s date but you will appreciate this may change
over time when new products are listed and delisted in the future. I am afraid we do not label our products as suitable for Vegans or with any symbols
indicating as such, we do this for suitable for Vegetarians only.” Contact here for a list.

address and we’d be happy to send a copy to you as soon as possible.”

Wholefoods

“I’m afraid we don’t have a list of all the Vegan products we stock at Piccadilly Circus, our product mix changes on a regular basis so this would be hard
to keep up to date. However, if you’re looking for some specific products we can certainly let you know if we stock them. Most products that are Vegan will
say on the packaging, to help you locate Vegan products we could offer you a personal store tour showing you Vegan products that we currently stock.”
