Philly 'Cheesesteak' Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 Ciabatta Rolls
  • 2 Seitan Steaks (I used Sojade brand)
  • 6 Onion Rings (I buy vegan ones from a local Chinese supermarket)
  • 6 Jalapenos
  • Vegan Pizza Cheese (I used Veganic)
  • Spicy BBQ Sauce
  • Vegan Mayo (optional - I used Really brand)

Serves 2 people

Instructions

  1. Slice open your rolls and warm in the oven for a few minutes until soft.

  2. Add the cheese and BBQ sauce to the rolls.

  3. Cook the onion rings and seitan steaks in a griddle pan and slice the steaks into strips.

  4. Add the onion rings and steak strips to the top and bottom of your rolls. Add the jalapenos and mayo (if using).

  5. Place the sandwich into a panini press and grill for a few minutes until the cheese has melted. (or you can weight down in a griddle pan if you don't have a press)

Serving Suggestion

Serve with a fresh salad on the side!
