Specially for British Pie Week 2015 I rustled up this beauty again. You can add faux meat pieces if you like or stick with the mushrooms and try different varieties too. The rich flavourful gravy makes this a hearty crowd pleaser.Chantal x

When butternut squash first became fashionable I just couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about – I didn’t really like its sweet taste. But knowing it was good for me (being extremely rich in vitamins and flavonoids etc) I persevered and devised this soup. I’m so glad I did because now it’s one of […]

“If you’re thinking ‘It can’t be a haggis without meat’, I say only this: I’ve shared a veggie haggis with some Scottish friends before and if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me.”Alastair
Sweet Potato, Spinach & Pineapple Samosas
vlaweb | December 9, 2014
“…samosas with a twist. You can cheat by using filo pastry, but I think it’s nicer to make your own. These tasty snacks also have the added surprise of pistachio to add an extra layer of nuttiness.”Alastair

Butternut Squash & Apricot Tagine
vlaweb | December 8, 2014
“I make the tagine mild, so that it’s suitable for children, but once I’ve removed the kiddie portions, I add some harissa paste, North African spices or cayenne pepper to spice it up for the adults.”Sharon

Autumn. Cold winds. Rain. Hail. Even a few moments of snow yesterday between bursts of hot sunshine. Walking on the South side of the hill in the woods it is suddenly no longer autumn but the end of summer. Off with jackets, faces to the sun then round the corner into the North and winter, […]
Coconut, Cauliflower and Chickpea Soup
The coconut and tomato in this recipe dance and twirl so delightfully through the cauliflower and chickpeas (garbanzo beans) to provide a lip-lickin’ nurturing meal. It’s simple (less is more in this case) and incredibly satiating. Enjoy…Trinity x
I don’t normally like fruit in savoury dishes, pineapple on a pizza is a no no, but I need to push my taste boundaries and so I included a fruit in this dish. I was absolutely amazed with the results, I ended up making more dressing just so I could dip more plums into it! […]
The soup was as creamy as creamy can be, and was the easiest soup to make. I followed my theory of the “one” soup recipe, which uses one of each ingredient. You can never go wrong as everything you add is one of something. My Dad even remarked that this ‘soup’ was the best tasting […]
This soup is so simple to make and you can make it while your bread is baking. You’ll have lunch on the table in no time. The best thing is, if you’re using a bread maker you can put your feet up with a cuppa while the lentils are cooking. The soup will easily feed […]
Roasted Butternut Soup with Parsley Pesto
I love butternut squash; in risotto, pasta and especially soup. It roasts beautifully and blends like a dream to create a silken soup that is perfect for the summer-to-autumn transitional season. This dish is so easy to make, you don’t even have to peel and chop the butternut squash- simply bake it whole in it’s […]
Italian Bean and Pasta Soup
For me, this is the perfect soup for Autumn Winter. It’s hearty, warming and filling. It’s also low prep and super cheap to make (even if you use quality organic ingredients!) We often serve it for Saturday lunch, but it also makes a great week day dinner, served with crusty seeded bread or warm garlic […]
Lightly Spiced Parnsip Soup
This soup is sweet, silky smooth, warming and oh so yummy! For me, this is another soup that’s perfect for Autumn/Fall. The spice I used was Garam Masala, which gives the soup a gentle hint of Indian curry. Lil’ L loves it, so hopefully other children will too.
